The watch was designed for the rescue pilots from the German Navy that were looking for a chronograph which would enable calculation of flight speeds. This is where the S.A.R Flieger comes into its own. The dial offers easy differentiation between the time displays, the chronograph functions by marking them in orange. The crown and pusher is positioned on the left, where they do not restrict the movement of the wearer's hand. The case size of the watch is of a generous 44mm and is driven by a automatic movement with a 48 hour power reserve.
